When we first heard about Hamersley Golf Course, we were intrigued by the decent reviews and that there had been some recent investment in the facilities. It was a course that kept popping up in conversation so we decided to head North of the city and give it a shot.

The First Tee

Standing on the first tee the layout of the first hole appeared open but offered its challenges. Very green with plenty of trees running either side of the fairway, The course had a real country club feel to it.

After finishing the first hole, We were captivated by how country it felt, keeping in mind we were still in a pretty built up area. Fairways were in good condition and the greens were well kept. It was clear why locals frequented Hamersley; it was more than just golf—it had a great peaceful feel about the place.

Course Layout

Hamersely Golf Course boasts 18 holes with four par 3's and a good variation of par 4's and from memory there were four par 5's to try and cut up. The course enables golfers of all skill sets to enjoy a round. We had looked forward to playing the course as it kept popping up in conversation. Each hole offers a challenge. As mentioned when you arrive you are met with a great new looking club house which includes a practice area and there is a cracking driving range present unfortunately we arrived too late to use it due to traffic in and around Perth at 8.30 in the morning.

Final Thoughts

This was our first round at Hamersley Golf Course and it was a course we will definitely visit again if we are ever further north again. With its country feel and welcoming atmosphere, it is great for all golfers no matter of ability. If you find yourself in the Perth area, set aside some time to play this course—you won’t be disappointed.
